Training camp...

So the NHL training camps maybe a little be futher away than the Junior A training camps. At any rate I am super stoked for my Slammer boys to return to Woodstock and to see the new guys. I'm not 100% sure when the training camp starts here but I am pretty sure it's a week or two away (upon revision we are 18 days away from the first day of training camp!!!!). Did I already say I was super stoked?!? Because I really am. It's been a long summer, I did get a bit of a break when I helped out at the "Slush Cup" (they put the ice back in this summer for a few weeks for hockey camps and the first weekend in July I helped out at the hockey tournament that they called 'the Slush Cup').

Let me bring you up to speed on how I am doing...the big game 5 was heart breaking. I can't exactly remember the final score. I just know that at that game, I saw some of the strong guys I watched all season, cry. It truely was an emotional night. About a week later the awards banquet was held...it was pretty sad for me to think that that would be the last time I see some of the guys. I can't help but wish them the very best of luck as they move on. The 20 year olds that I knew would not be returning and then the trades that happened in the off season. I became quite attached to these boys, more than they know. But they have to move on and I have to accept that, heck I can't stay in this town forever.

I'm not sure what else to say right now, but I am ready for the new season. Good luck to the boys coming to town for camp, can't wait to see you on the ice!! And to my '20 year old' boys, the guys that got traded and the ones that just decided to take the next step in their hockey careers, I truely want to wish you all the luck in the world!! I could not have asked for a better season and a better group of guys to follow during the 2007-08 season. I hope to see your names in the big leagues but know that you guys a pro in my heart!! The returnees I'll see you on the ice, make me proud!
