I see I started this post, but never finished it...here is how it started:Yes, I am writing about the weekend that has just past. Friday night the boys opened at home, their first game of the regular season and our first sight of the new team.
Fast forward to a few months later and I am wondering what the H-E-double hockey sticks happened. The Slammers have played 27 games so far this season they sit second to last in thier division and at 12-9-1-5 ...they have been really up and down this season. As a fan watching the games I would have to say it started off rough with the team not coming together like they did last season. But they seem to be gelling more now.
I really hate to critize -as I am simply and outsider looking in- but I'd say the changing of the captiancy might have played a part in the slow start to the season. It's really hard to explain what I mean. The previous captain was such a great leader on and off the ice and now we had a whole new player, let alone a new captain. But change is inavitable and players are going to graduate from the progam and move on.
Any waaaay, as we approach the christmas break with thoughts of families and friends in thier minds I hope the boys end strong and return in the new year full refreshed and ready to hunt down the teams a head of them. I know they can -and they know they can- do it. So get it done boys!
