Slammers golf scramble

*again a late post, the scramble was on Aug. 29th

The grey skies didn’t dampen the spirits of those attending the Slammers Golf Scramble on Friday.

“It was a great day and the rain held off,” said Adam Donovan. The shot gun start at 10 saw each team start at a different hole.

New Brunswick born, NHL star, Randy Jones of the Philadelphia Flyers came out to play a few holes and signed some autographs. One item that Jones signed was a Flyers sweater that was later auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Slammers.

The day also brought out Slammers Alumni, such as Lachlan MacIntosh, who was just back from the Florida Panthers training camp.  “It was awesome! A complete success,” said MacIntosh about the day. “It was great to see guys I haven’t seen in a while, a great day. Donovan echoed MacIntosh’s words saying, the day went “very smoothly.” It was very well organised,” Donovan said.  “Thanks to the community and everyone that came out to support the Slammers,” Donovan said at the end of the day.
