So it’s been a while since my last blog....wow that sounds like something for the confessional.
My now hometown team (yes I have officially adopted them!) advanced to the playoffs. Our home game winning streak ended, just as soon as the Christmas break. We actually had a pretty nasty slump after the Christmas break, not winning many games at home. The Miramichi Timberwolves ended up passing us by in the standings, but didn’t crush our hopes. The Slammers ended the regular season with a big home game win against the Moncton Beavers. They hit the road for a couple of games, they won the first one and lost the second. Both games were against teams that were not making the playoffs to the guys were out there to 'just have fun and not get hurt.'
The first round started at home for the Slammers against the Moncton Beavers. The Slammers got the first win and the next 3 to sweep the series.
In the meantime the Miramichi Timberwolves were in the process of sweeping the Charlottetown Abbies.
After a big win today in Miramichi the Slammers are leading the best of 7 series 3 games to 2. Game 6 will take place at home on Tuesday as the Slammers plan to win the series.
My job as a journalism student/super fan has just stepped up to a new level. I am now the Production Manager for the online game audio....the Slammers organization has decided to start streaming the play by play for the Slammers away games and they have appointed me the Production Manager. Today’s game was our first and it went perfectly...well there might have been a few minor mistakes, nothing serious. So we have the rest of the playoffs and into next year.
Well I think I have gotten out all I wanted to say. So that’s all from this hockey girl...for now.
